CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS FOR THE APPLICATION AND USE OF A DISABILITY PARKING PERMIT

1.     In order to qualify for a Parking Permit, the applicant must be mobility-impaired and require

        the use of an assistive device to promote his/her mobility.

2.     The application should be accompanied by a medical certificate from a registered Health

         Professional or an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Medical Doctor.

3.     The Screening Panel reserves the right to request any additional report(s) or information

         once the application has been received.

4.      The Applicant must have a long or short-term physical impairment, which substantially limits

          his/her mobility.

4.1     Physical impairment means a partial or total loss of mobility.

4.2     Long-term impairment means the physical impairment is likely to persist for the rest of the natural life of the applicant.

4.3     Short-term impairment means temporary illness or injury, which may/may not give rise to a permanent physical impairment.

          The above would apply to a person with a disability or a parent/care giver of a child with a disability requiring a permit.

4.4     Should the disc be found to be abused, it can be revoked/withdrawn and the traffic authorities will be accordingly notified.

THE PARKING DISC IS ONLY VALID IN THE EKURHULENI METRO MUNICIPAL DISTRICT!
